Mattie Jo’s baby photos – 2 months

A few months ago I was happy to get the chance to photograph my newest niece Mattie. Her first baby photos were mostly done at the hospital. I knew I wanted another chance at her so when my sister and her family visited us the other night I thought it was a great time to update her photos.
We photographed little Mattie’s baby photos for about 90 minutes and she was fantastic for us. She had her moments (all babies do!) but for 2 month old portraits, these were so much fun and easy. So here are Mattie’s 2 month old baby pictures.

We shoot on location, in home and at the hospital if you require it. Our baby pictures are the same price as our family portrait sessions so just choose the coverage you want and let me know when you want to shoot! (Please note: if we are going to do in-hospital baby photos, it is your responsibility to clear it with the hospital first. Or tell them I’m family.)
Yes, I realize our family is super-cute. Mattie is Lincoln’s cousin and you remember how cute Lincoln’s baby photos are.

I recently had a chance to do both newborn photos and baby photos at 3 months with Lincoln. I can’t believe how much he has changed in just three months from his newborn photos until now!

It’s not every day I post personal things on Best Day Photo but today is an exception. I’d like to announce the birth of Mattie Jo Small, 6 lbs 15 oz born on 11/15/10 to my sister Ashley and her fiance Kevin. Mattie is the newest Antonino clan member and brings our total to 22 including my parents, siblings, significant others and children. My IMMEDIATE family is 22 people, yes. (Thanksgiving is HUGE here.)
Anyhoo – Mattie Jo was named after me so I feel like I have to do her and Ash justice with some photos. I hope you enjoy these – I really did my absolute best under *far* less than ideal circumstances. The first few photos were taken with a point & shoot (*GASP!* I KNOW!) and the second day stuff with my own gear. Thanks for looking!

After seeing Ashley and Bryan’s Portland engagement session photos, Amber and Kevin decided to have some couples photos taken while I was in Tampa for their wedding. We ended up doing their couples photos on Anna Maria Island. After a quick lunch at the Sandbar we walked down the beach and shot for a little while. Kevin recreated his proposal almost in the same spot on the beach and we had a beautiful blue sky day for some pictures. I love doing engagement photos and don’t always get to do “day after” pictures so I had a lot of fun! Anytime you’re from Maine shooting on a sunny, hot beach in November, you’re taking it.
Thanks to Kevin, Amber, Hayley, Linda, Robin, Lindsay, and everyone else I got to meet on my trip to Florida! I had a BLAST! I’ll come back soon!!

On Sunday I shot two absolutely gorgeous engagement sessions. One you’ve already seen (my Old Port Portland portraits with Ashley and Bryan). This is the second beautiful couples photo session from Portland. Meet Kassie & AJ!
We started our shoot a bit late – too close to sunset for our tastes – so we’ll probably get together and shoot more when the snow starts flying. Until then, we conquered Crescent Beach, Headlight and Kettle Cove. Did I mention yet that I love being back in Maine to restart my wedding photography business? If not, now is a good time! I LOVE MAINE and all the new Mainers I’m getting to meet. Enjoy!

Ashley and Bryan live close to downtown Portland so our couples portrait session started at Monument Park but unfortunately Portland was having a large gathering for Breast Cancer Awareness followed by a benefit walk. All good – we headed away from Monument Park and down to the new Stephen King Halloween mural behind Asylum. After playing with the mural for awhile we walked down to the waterfront. We wanted some images from the wharf and then back toward the boats. Eventually we found a really cool cobblestone street. Portland is SUCH a fun city to shoot in!
I had a fantastic time with both Ashley and Bryan! They were great and followed the “studio rule” very well (Best Day Photo studio rule: More kissing, less talking!).

Brandi and Akil are fun and obviously gorgeous people to shoot with. They both went to Syracuse University there they met so it was a natural place for us to go with them for their engagement session. Brandi thought of us because she was a bridesmaid at Jeri and Michael’s wedding. We had a blast until it started raining! Then we just ran!
They’re planning a NYC wedding, since both of them are actually from the city. I love these guys and it was fun hanging out with them for a while.

Erin and Kyle are a great couple! They are so nice and even though I think they may have been just a little bit nervous at first, we had a good time enjoying the beautiful weather at the park in Skaneateles. They must have gotten used to us because they ended up with some fantastic photos! It’s great when a couple helps you to see an old stomping grounds in a whole new way and after a lot of exploration of Skaneateles Park, we did indeed.

We shot Ashley and Heerak’s engagement photos in Skaneateles. We weren’t really sure the weather was going to hold out for us but it ended up being a gorgeous day to take pictures. We started at the lake and visited one of their friends’ homes on the other side of Skaneateles Lake. We’re definitely excited to work with Heerak and Ashley again for their wedding next month!!

Jessica is a former client of ours. We shot her wedding a couple years ago. Well, life happens and Jessica has found herself in the midst of her new family. She contacted us awhile ago to do some family portraits for her, Jack and my two new best friends: Ari & Lexi.
When the day for family portraits came we went to Van Buren Park. This is one of my “secret locations” that we only shoot 1-2 times a year MAX. I love using this park in Baldwinsville and would hate to overdo it. Portraits or engagement photos on the hills at Van Buren are awesome and we have done pet portraits there as well. It was really great to see Jessica again and meeting Jack & the twins was great. Jess is a really FUN client – we have a good time and this shoot was no exception. On to some photos?
